Invitation
In an era marked by conflict and polarization, we warmly invite you to the Global Peace Prayer Festival—a transformative, heart-centered gathering in Thimphu, Bhutan. For two sacred weeks, we will pause, breathe, and pray together for the healing of humanity.
What is the Global Peace Prayer Festival?
The Global Peace Prayer Festival (GPPF) is a sanctuary of stillness and solidarity. It brings together eminent lamas from across Bhutan and beyond, alongside spiritual leaders, scholars, and devoted practitioners, to cultivate loving-kindness, wisdom, and compassionate action through prayer, meditation, and dialogue.
Who will gather?
Teachers and lineage holders representing all vehicles of Buddhism—Theravada, Mahayana, and Vajrayana
Lamas and monastics from every school of Vajrayana Buddhism
Scholars, contemplatives, and seekers from around the world
Together, this unprecedented assembly unites in a single aspiration: to co-create a future rooted in peace, happiness, and compassionate awareness.
Why Bhutan?
Bhutan—home to living Buddhist traditions and the national ethos of Gross National Happiness—offers a serene, mountain-held setting where prayer becomes practice and practice becomes community. Thimphu’s monasteries and sacred spaces will host collective prayers and meditations dedicated to global peace and the well-being of all beings.
